Born in Bradenton, Florida and currently residing in Georgia, let us introduce you to one of our 10 ATX Challenge finalists, That Guy Veezy.

Hoping to return to SXSW this year as a participant in Swisher Sweets ATX Takeover, the talented and multi-faceted artist is no stranger to the Austin festival.

Two years ago, TGV and his crew trekked down to South By off the dime of his friend’s refund check from college. Despite not performing at one of the “official” showcases, That Guy Veezy says his experience at SXSW was one of the most important in his career thus far and something he thinks every striving artist should experience.

When it comes to the music, the southern rapper has big plans for 2017. This coming March, TGV will be releasing his first official EP, which he says has something on it for everybody. Soon after in April, he plans to hit us with Fire Up! 2 — the sequel to his original Fire Up! mixtape that dropped a year ago. His latest release was on New Year’s Eve, a thought-provoking cut titled “Resolution.”

In this era of music, it’s important to be versatile with your craft and have the ability to create in multiple ways. That concept is understood by That Guy Veezy, which is why he’s virtually done it all since the age of 16 when he started his career.

In addition to producing, writing, mixing and mastering his own music, TGV has found himself on the visual side of creating for him and his NBDMG (Never Back Down Music Group) collective. When he’s not lighting up the booth, you’ll find That Guy Veezy directing and shooting a new music video, or editing a promo clip for NBDMG. As we said, he can do it all.

Whether or not he ends up the winner of our ATX Challenge, TGV has plans to be at SXSW this year regardless, so if you’ll be there as well, find him on 6th St. and say what’s up!
