For the third year in a row, Swisher Sweets hosted their annual  Spark Party where they introduce the new class of artists for the Artist Project, as well as present an industry icon with the Spark Award. This year, the 2019 class includes: Taylor Bennett, Valee, Childish Major and SAINt JHN and the Spark Award went to the barrier-breaking super star, mother and industry trendsetter, Cardi B.

Gracing the gorgeous rooftop of the London West Hollywood in sunny California, the private event was bound to be exciting. In addition to Cardi and the Artist Project Class of 2019, there were several other special guests in the building including Iggy Azalea, Eric Bellinger, Dan Rue, Ponce De’Leioun, Kareem “Biggs” Burke, and a slew of others. With music blasting from DJ Calderone, an open bar, delicious Hors d’oeuvres, and a beautiful spring breeze, there wasn’t much more to ask for.

As the Red Carpet was booming all evening with top media outlets such as Variety, Hollywood Unlocked and more talking with the special guests, everything stopped as soon as Cardi walked in the room. After taking time to speak with every outlet, and videographer/photographer alike, the “Money” star closed out the red carpet with a memorable interview with Swisher discussing her success, motherhood and why staying her true, authentic self is always most important. Towards the end of the evening, Swisher Sweets president John Miller took the stage and gave a heartfelt speech to Cardi, congratulating her on all her success and presenting her with the Spark Award. The superstar made her way to the stage and gave a speech of her own, showing her appreciation, mixed in with some witty Cardi B personality we’ve grown to love her for.

The night ended with some more great music, a final round of drinks and food, and overall excitement for what 2019 will bring for the Swisher Sweets Artist Project. Be sure to follow @SwisherSweets on all platforms to stay up to date.
