The Artist Project showed up and dominated 5th street in Austin for the Artist Project’s third ATX event! Taking place at Fair Market on Saturday, March 16th, Swisher threw an event with a showcase that featured amazing performances from the biggest names in hip-hop and several different activations to keep fans engaged all day.

The event was a two-part showcase consisting of a day event and an evening event with over 25 performers. Holding down the hosting duties was well known writer/host/artist Rob Markman, who kept the fans energized throughout the entire 12-hour day by throwing out t-shirts and hyping them up for the next performance. New York native, DJ S Whit served as the house DJ for the evening, turning the crowd up in between sets.

Around 11am, fans began lining up outside the venue. When it came time for doors to open at 1pm the fans started pouring in, keeping the venue packed throughout both showcases. Kicking off the day was some of the most talented up-and-coming country performers including Chris Canterbury, Lauren Jenkins, Laura Reed and Paul Cauthen. Their soulful and passionate performances set the tone for a day of amazing musical journeys.

Mass Appeal’s “Starting 5”, which includes Stro, 070 PHI, Cantrell, Ezri and Fashawn toured around the country, ending their tour performing at the ATX Showcase. These talented lyricists brought the stage down in a strong way and made their presence felt. There was even a cool moment backstage where these artists freestyled in a cypher thanks to DJ S Whit tossing on a few instrumentals during a short intermission. It was a moment to say the least.

Ending off the day performances was Taylor Bennett and Valee, as well as the headliner for the day showcase SAINt Jhn. As each of these artists hit the stage, all 1,000+ attendees were vibing out, singing word for word, song after song. Immediately following SAINt JHN’s performance, the venue cleared out and the hundreds of anxious fans lined right back up to come in for the night time showcase.

As the clock struck 7, Fair Market was turned on its head as a returning Artist Project performer, Desiigner, hit the stage. Providing the perfect resurgence of energy needed, by jumping in the crowd to perform, the G.O.O.D. Music star set the tone for what the evening portion of the event would look like.

Fans continued to pour in, some rushing to the front of the stage, others enjoying the many aforementioned activations. Whatever the fans were doing, they more than likely had Swishers in hand, smiles on their faces and memories being made. Following Desiigner was a slew of incredible performances including Artist Project alumni J Soulja, Kelechi, Ponce De’Leioun; as well as Paper Mashay, Childish Major, Asian Doll, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Yung Mal and LightSkinKeisha. Closing out the night in an incredible way was one of the hottest acts straight out of ATL at the moment, Lil Baby, who delivered over 15 bangers for the sold-out crowd.

Fans were left speechless as Lil Baby exited the stage and the event that influencers and blogs called the “must-see event in Austin, TX” came to a close. If you happened to miss out on this ATX event, first and foremost we apologize — you definitely missed out! But, don’t fret, we captured some amazing footage for you all to enjoy.
