Norman Payne, stage name DJ Chose, was born on February 15th, and grew up in Brookshire, TX, a small town outside of Houston, TX. At the age of eight, Payne later moved to Youngstown, Ohio for four years with his stepfather, which plays a major part of his Northern feel on his emotional records.
He began his production career working with Brook Gang. Working with the group gave him his first taste of Billboard success with the song “Pop That” which peaked at the 89th position. DJ Chose later began working with artist such as: Drake, Uncle Luke, Kirko Bangz, Trae The Truth, and Dorrough Music.
As a way to get club exposure for the music he was creating, Chose later ventured into DJing which lead to working with veterans like OG Ron C, DJ Mr. Rogers, and DJ Micheal “5000” Watts. Those ventures opened the door to a multitude of his success on the artist side of his business. DJ Chose continues today focusing on the artist side of his career, expanding his production craft, and songwriting. Recently, that focus has led to production and writing credits on the RIAA Platinum Certified “Islah” album by Kevin Gates, which also includes Chose’s work on the RIAA Gold Certified Single “Time 4 That”. He also contributed to the “Fate of the Furious” Motion Picture Soundtrack by producing the PNB Rock, A Boogie Wit The Hoodie, & Kodak Black single “Horses”.
Chose never misses a day of thanking God for blessing him with the opportunities he has experienced. Anyone who wants to know him should know that he is an ambitious and motivated individual whom is only satisfied with excellence and perfection. He’s he to prove that with those traits, his achievements, and work ethic the sky is the limit!
