Make NO MISTAKE about it, nothing shines brighter than honesty in presentation. People relate better to that in which they can believe in. A fact not lost on Ponce De’Leioun. Key tastemakers within the industry share Ponce’s own fervent belief in his self-made talent. Most notably among them, Big Dawg Tim Westwood, Hip-Hop legend, Snoop Dogg & most recently, Sway Calloway.
A definition of self-made, Ponce De’Leioun has been aggressive in attacking and paving the way for his success. Continued success is inevitable for Ponce, and it will be done on his own terms! In only a few years he has quickly blazed through National tours, featured with numerous artists on their singles, premiered on WorldStarHipHop.com & headlined venues across the country, acquiring positions to perform globally.
Today’s hip-hop publications have no shortage of talented rappers to cover, and yes – they all come with the promise to, “kill the rap game”. But, rarely what is covered is work ethic and passion. Ponce clearly has both of those qualities instilled in him. 2016, so far, has already been a huge year for De’Leioun, with evidence of growth from previous years paying dividends. He has the type of metrics that every up and coming artist strives for. Riding a wave of success in to and out of his appearance at SXSW, he’s appeared with Waka Flocka Flame in his home state of West Virginia twice, and literally BROKE THE STAGE with Waka in Lubbock, TX in May.
Following up on his appearances with Waka Flocka, Ponce headlined a sold out show with Migos & Lil Yachty June 10 th at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, before announcing the release of the “Yellow Tape” hosted by Tim Westwood. Many more shows will be announced in the summer of 2016; a summer that is very quickly shaping up to be #TheRiseOfTheLion. This comes after already being selected to “Get In The Game” with Sway Calloway in 2016, being nominated for, “Best Male Rapper of 2015” by the Underground Music Awards, having had two major freestyle sessions with Tim Westwood & earned the #1 spot on Snoop Dogg’s “Underground Heat Countdown”. Each video Ponce has released has garnered thousands of views, making him quite the social media guru.
Before relocating to his birthplace in California, Ponce De’Leioun earned himself awards for “Best Performance”, “Artist of the Year”, & “Best Music Video” for the state of West Virginia. Ponce is now collecting shows across the country & working on his debut album. Ponce has become a staple for the state of West Virginia, helping to open doors for younger artists pushing to get into the industry. Quickly moving into the artist development business model, Ponce is using his skills, college degree & everything learned and absorbed while creating his own success in the music industry, carefully selecting his new wave of “next up’s”.
Ponce De’Leioun’s work-ethic, passion and consistency are paying off and generating numerous sources for revenue as he develops his own portfolio in the music and music marketing sectors. Proof that they don’t call the rap game a hustle for nothing.
